Red25 Coordinator of the Year
22 February 2016
Congratulations to our very own Brand and Creative Specialist Rhys Sandery who has been named Red25 Coordinator of the Year for his outstanding efforts in actively encouraging and recruiting new blood donors to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. The award is based upon the efforts of an individual who exceedingly encourages their colleagues to unite and save lives through blood donation. Rhys received his award at a special ceremony held in Adelaide on 18 February 2016.
Red 25 is the donation program of the Australian Red Cross Blood Service which aims to rally corporate and community organisations and groups together to achieve 25 per cent of the annual blood donations needed by Australians.
“Not only does Rhys encourage his members to donate as much as possible throughout the year, he regularly requests that his Community Relations Officer visits his work place to present to staff their Red25 achievements and actively encourages new donors to give blood and join their Red25 group,” said Australian Red Cross Blood Service donor services Regional Marketing and Community Relations Manager Danielle Griffith at the awards. “He communicates well with his colleagues and with the Red25 team to ensure that every visit to the Regent Arcade Blood Donor Centre is a successful one,” she said.
Last year more than 1000 Red25 groups from South Australia made 38,000 donations, collectively saving the lives of 114,000 people needing blood products for cancer treatment and blood loss during childbirth.
