The Final Ride Like Crazy Finishes on a High
18 January 2018
On Sunday, 14 January 2018 the last ever Ride Like Crazy event took place. After ten years of the heart-warming ride which has raised funds for much needed cancer research, prevention and treatment, the riders unclicked their cleats for the last time.
Around 1,400 riders donned the lycra and rode the route from Unley, up the freeway and into the beautiful Adelaide Hills on an almost perfect day!
Running since 2009, over 13,000 riders have now participated in the ride, with over $1.7 million raised in total. What an achievement.
As proud sponsors of this event since its inception, we not only have staff getting involved in the actual ride, but also in all of the action at Unley Oval (the end point for the riders).
This year our friendly volunteers were there handing out our fantastic reusable shopping bags, balloons, fidget spinners and piggy banks. Of course, the day wouldn’t have been the same without an appearance from our big, blue mascot Poccu. He was busy handing out hugs and making friends with the police horses!
Congratulations must be given to all of the riders who participated in and completed both the half and full course!
We have loved playing a part in this event and, although we are sad to see it go, it has been a pleasure! See a few snaps from the fun event below.
