Get to know Monica a little more…

Where did you work before joining Police Credit Union?

I worked as a Front Office Coordinator at a Dental Clinic, while simultaneously owning and managing a shoe store called H&A Shoe Collection. Prior to that, I was employed at NAB and I am also a qualified Beauty Therapist.

What made you pursue your current role?

Having already worked in different areas within the business and finding a passion for building relationships with our Members, I felt the step into Relationship Manager Healthcare Professionals made sense. I genuinely love supporting the people who care for our communities, and I enjoy meeting new people and building strong, trusted relationships, while taking the time to understand their needs. This role allows me to combine my people skills with a strong sense of purpose—listening, advocating, and delivering tailored solutions that make their professional and personal lives easier. Knowing that my work helps healthcare teams feel supported, valued, and empowered is what motivates me and makes this role so rewarding.

How do you describe your role at Police Credit Union?

My role focusses on building and growing strong partnerships within the healthcare community. I am responsible for business development, establishing new relationships, and maintaining core partnerships by providing ongoing support tailored to the needs of healthcare workers. I actively engage with Members through site visits, events, and networking opportunities, ensuring they feel valued and well-supported. A key part of my role is educating healthcare professionals on what Police Credit Union offers, particularly the benefits and services available to Platinum and Advantage Members, while also assisting them to maximise their understanding of their personal finances and how to take control of their financial future, and helping them make informed financial decisions while strengthening long-term relationships.

What’s the best part of your job?

It has to be meeting new people and being involved in business development while building and strengthening both new and existing core relationships. I enjoy being a key point of contact for healthcare professionals and working closely with them to provide ongoing support. Collaborating with a large range of individuals and teams keeps the role dynamic and rewarding, and I value the opportunity to connect and make a meaningful impact through strong relationships.

What has been a highlight or special memory from your time with Police Credit Union?

The biggest highlight of my role is the satisfaction of knowing that I consistently make a positive impact on our Members’ lives. Being recognised daily for this contribution reaffirms my dedication and motivates me to continually strive for excellence. I’m proud to have received two High Achiever awards during my time at Police Credit Union, a testament to my commitment to delivering exceptional service and making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

What is your hidden talent/superpower?

I can fluently speak Polish and have the ability to balance the responsibilities of being a working mum with teenage sons. Embracing my cultural heritage and effectively communicating in Polish enriches my personal life, and juggling the demands of nurturing my family whilst excelling in my career is something I take great pride in. I’m a multitasker at its finest!

What’s the best piece of advice you give to others?

Always have something like a trip in the planning stages, or already booked, to look forward to. Personally, I’m passionate about travel, and having a trip planned or a weekend getaway on the horizon consistently keeps me in a positive mindset. It’s a simple yet effective way to keep the excitement in life. And…you only live once so live life to its fullest!

What do you like to do with your spare time or on the weekends?

For me, weekends are for creating memories with loved ones, whether it’s spending quality time with family and friends, hosting gatherings at home, indulging in meals at restaurants, exploring the local wineries. I love to enjoy the warmth of the sun whilst listening to live music, eating and drinking or just soaking in the outdoors! My sons are also very keen on mountain biking adventures and heading out on boat rides, fishing and exploring. Weekends are the perfect opportunity to spend time together as a family and with friends doing adventurous activities and catching up. And of course, travel and weekend getaways.

What do you like most about working at Police Credit Union?

What I like most about working at Police Credit Union is the strong sense of community and genuine focus on people. I value being part of an organisation that truly supports its Members and staff, while giving me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships. The collaborative culture, supportive team environment, and ability to make a real difference through my role make it a rewarding place to work, and I appreciate how aligned the organisation’s values are with the work I do every day.
