The Faces Behind Better Banking: Wendy Ault

We want you to get to know our staff – the friendly people behind our motto of #BetterBanking. So, we are introducing the next staff member in our ‘Faces Behind Better Banking’ series….

Next up we have Wendy Ault, the friendly face helping our Members down on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula. She loves getting out on the road, checking out all the beautiful scenery of the area but, more importantly, making her way to those who need her help with their banking! You may have seen her happy snaps of Port Broughton, Ardrossan or Wallaroo on our Facebook page.

Read on to get to know the lady behind the snaps…

Q: Name?
A: Wendy Ault

Q: Nickname?
A: Wen

Q: Describe your family
A: It’s just me and my cat at home. I have two grown daughters who live independently and I have three grand doggies who I dog-sit often.

Q: Pets?
A: One old cat that I took on from a friend who moved interstate. That seems to happen quite a bit around here.

Q: What is your secret hidden talent?
A: Organising stuff. Look out because if I get the urge and you are standing still, you’ll get thrown out!

Q: How long have you been with Police Credit Union?
A: Four years.

Q: What is your favourite part of the area you work in?
A: All of it! We have the most amazing coastline, from beautiful cliffs that rival the west coast, to the most amazing beaches with white sand and aqua water.

Q: Where is the best place to get a coffee near the branch?
A: Archie’s Diner has the best coffee but if I am looking for a quick fix, I pop over to the Yorke Café which is just next door to the branch. They also do a great coffee.

Q: How do you have your coffee?
A: Soy flat white.

Q: What’s your best memory at Police Credit Union?
A: I have lots of great memories but the ones that stick clearest in my mind are all those where I have been able to help someone with their banking and achieve the best outcome.

Q: Hot tip for a lunch spot in your area?
A: It’s not a cafe or anything but Weaners Flat Reserve is a great place to take your lunch and eat it. The lake also has a lovely walking trail around it.

Q: What do you consider to be the best product / service offered by Police Credit Union?
A: Our car loans have very competitive rates with no ongoing fees or charges.

Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: Gardening, helping out in the community, learning – I just wish I would finish a course before something else takes my interest.

Q: What meal are you famous for?
A: My sweet potato frittata.

Q: Describe your role with Police Credit Union?
A: I am the Branch Manager and Relationship Manager, and help people to get the best possible banking solutions to suit where they are at right now.

Q. Your favourite quote?
A. “Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” Napoleon Hill

Q. Where do you want to travel next?
A. Anywhere there’s a beach or a mountain.

Q: Tell us your story… how did you end up at Police Credit Union and where did you start?
A: After a thirty year career as an accountant, financial analyst and recruitment consultant, I moved to the Yorke Peninsula where I was a tax bookkeeper/accountant. I then moved on to a hotel where I was the caretaker manager for six months. After that, I worked at another bank for two years before moving to Police Credit Union.

Q: What will be your next big purchase?
A: Not really a purchase but will be doing renovations!

Q: What is one interesting fact about one of your colleagues?
A: Lauren has a degree in Environmental Science and was a park ranger in the NT.

Q: Any parting comments?…
A: We have some really wonderful Members in Yorketown.

Now that you know Wendy a bit better, maybe you can get in touch to chat with her about how she can help you with your financial goals. She might even share that ripper frittata recipe with you if you’re lucky!
